A day for remembering, for whatever may seem fitting, for that which lends itself to importance in your life. Our hearts and thoughts go out the the Day family. One short year seemed to pass in the span of a day yesterday. We gathered to drink, laugh and share blessings as Day would have done. Gathered to give some thanks for what we have right in front of us, which at times seems so much more than enough and others seems like its all you have. Thoughts go out to the Captains' family in his passing. We are losing the old guard, the ones that shaped us and helped guide us into being the men we are trying to become. Discerning taste, quality of character, distinction of manner, all seems to pass with the decades.

11.09.2008 : Things done changed?
Seems as though its quite easy to get carried away in all of the energy and hype surrounding the recent changing of the guard in the States. We all want a change, all hope for a change, all wish for a change. In both countries. Yet the fact is, with most people, it feels like just another great hype. I took a walk around the day after the election and there was still people sleeping under cardboard boxes. I guess they will just have to wait for this "change" to happen. I guess we are all just going to have to wait.
Just a brief word on the global economic crisis ... If you get out there and speak to anyone that lives within their means, things are not so drastic. They still go to work everyday, work long hours for little pay, and try to make ends meet. When I think of who is in an "economic crisis" , I think of people living high on the hog. I think of "entertainers" making far too much money for doing far too little. How about the people making hundreds of thousands of dollars from "investments" ie DOING NOTHING. The world is correcting itself wether we like it or not. If the climate can change why not economic change?
Amidst all the moisture, fallen leaves, cardboards boxes, endless rolls of tape, countless hours of reviewing clips, endless pots of tea and the few dozen blunt wraps ... things are a brewing. It may sound a little like Mingus and look a little like Braun, but in the end its all us. Its inevitable that in these hectic times of economic change and political uneasiness, there will be alot of misinformation that gets taken for fact. Mostly clueless opinions and nonsensical speculations. Fact is there are alot more things to be thankful for than not. There is more to life than t-shirts graphics, urban fashion trends and dime store dozens popular entertainers.

Fall is setting in real quick here on the West coast. Some of us have some indoor activities that juice the mind and stimulate ideas. Yet in the early hours of the morning sometimes the mind can reach levels of fatigue and err in judgement. Over at VILLAINS they have fired off a shirt for October and its a statement to say the least. Tripped me right out. Suffice to say this shirt should sell out NOW. Shit is hot and bold as hell. Props to Jay for saying something everyone should think about twice.

9.29.2008 : Taking it back.

Its amazing how things can refresh themselves once you get away from all the negative influences and start back at the very beginning. That is what FSF has been going through. A journey back to the actual very beginning and getting a fresh outlook and fresh surroundings and everything has become a lot more clear. There are times when you are trying to make something from scratch and you just don't have the right ingredients. Like trying to make muffins with steak. I love a good steak but not with my muffins, thanks.
Well, now the steaks are on the bbq, the muffins are in the oven and the beers are in the fridge. Sorted.
On November 10th we will be posting the trailer for the FSF video which will be released next summer. As well the site will get a new lease on life and get some needed updates with what will be happening in the future for FSF.
I know alot of people misunderstood this from the beginning and thought it was about one person or another, but really all things become clear in time. You can look out your window and see hundreds of things that have no substance and don't evolve and are based on looks and popularity. Well it looks like we are going to have to stand out in that sea of mediocrity.
